Welcome to Our Ring

We'll keep this simple, for now. While this ring is for people who are critical of the House of Netjer, it is not for people who wish to harass the management or membership of that organization. Pages on which home telephone numbers or home addresses of the individuals in question appear will not be accepted, and if you stick such information onto your page at any time, that's grounds for removal from the ring.

What are we here for? For equal time, to tell the other side of the story of the overhyped House of Netjer. To be blunt, when I see a group of people following somebody who has them call her "Her Holiness" and claims to be an incarnation of a god, the "carrier of the kingly ka", I get a little worried about that, and nothing that I saw as I got to know these people gave me a good reason to lay those concerns aside. The House has become something of a minor legend, many telling a story about a triumph of reason that never really occured. Some will talk about the great successes that the House has enjoyed in dealing with "difficult members", quickly glossing over the fact that those "successes" often seem to be largely obtained by going along with whatever those difficult members want, and so while there is certainly a lesson to be learned from this story, it's not the lesson some would have us think it is.

The bad experiences you relate can be ones that took place online or off, but you must have them online for at least a year and a day, and on a number of other rings, before submitting them here. I've seen some of the true believers be kind of sneaky, and I'd like to try to make sure that what I'm seeing isn't a decoy page that's going to be replaced by something else, the moment it's on the ring. To make sure that your submission doesn't get lost in the shuffle, drop by my contact group on Livejournal, and leave me a message. It's moderated, and what I'll probably do is take down your information, and delete your message. If everything looks good, and I see you doing your part to get the word out, I'll invite you to join the ring after some time has passed. Aside from concerns about what some might be up to, this is a way of making sure that we're bringing new people into the ring, instead of circulating the same 2 or 3 people per week, over and over.
